Recreational, Family Sit-On-Top Kayak

The Feelfree Roamer is an ideal boat for beginners looking for their first kayak and the more experienced paddler too. With an almost identical hull shape to the Feelfree Nomad, the Roamer is super stable and ideally suited for days at the beach, pottering along a local canal or exploring the local river. The main differences between the Roamer and the Nomad are found in the outfitting. The Roamer has slightly less leg room, so paddlers over 6ft may well do better with the Nomad. It also has a slightly smaller rear tank well, and doesn't have side carry handles.

The Roamer has many features including moulded-in end carry handles, deck lines and plenty of storage space. The tank well and storage hatch provide the room for carrying kit. However as they are not fully waterproof, we would recommend the use of dry bags unless you want soggy sandwiches! More adventurous customers have even packed enough lightweight gear inside the Roamer for overnight camping trips.

For playing on small rapids and surf we suggest looking at thigh straps, as they allow the paddler to use their lower body whilst making paddling strokes, giving a greater degree of control and power. For comfort on days out and to make paddling the Roamer more enjoyable we would recommend that a seat/backrest be used especially if the paddler is planning on spending more time on the water.
