Thule Hullavator Pro 898
The Thule Hullavator Pro 898 is a neat piece of kit that takes the strain of loading canoes, kayaks, SUP boards and sit-on-tops (up to 35kg) onto an existing Thule roofrack system. The Thule Hullavator lowers down the side of the vehicle (to waist height on most average sized cars), allowing the watercraft to be loaded without having to lift it up and over onto the roof-bars. The gas-assisted struts within the Hullavator can take 18kg of the kayaks weight, meaning the Hullavator is useful for single-handed loading and unloading.
Thule recommend ProBar Evo’s for mounting Hullavator 898’s onto, as these are the strongest of Thule’s roof-bars and well capable of supporting the extra weight of fitting Hullavators to the bars. If wide enough bars are fitted, it is also possible to fit 2x sets to a vehicle, allowing, 2x kayaks to be carried, and lowered off either side of the vehicle.
The Thule Hullavator comes supplied with a pair of 275cm cam straps (with rubber buckle covers) to secure the boat into the Hullavator cradles. There is also a set of Thule Quikdraw Bow/Stern tie-downs, so longer kayaks can be scured to the vehicles tow-bar or towing eye.
