NRS Orion Cag
The Orion paddling cag from NRS has been designed by serious sea kayakers, looking for the ultimate kayaking jacket to keep the wearer warm, dry and comfortable in the most adverse of conditions. Featuring an articulated storm hood, with a huge range of adjustment along with a perforated face shield designed for the wearer to batten down the hatched and keep spray and waves from soaking the paddler. In fairer conditions the high collar and face shield can be zipped open and the hood rolled away to give a more open fit.
Other features that are shared by top-end paddling jackets are latex wrist gaskets to prevent water ingress, twin-waist for use with a spraydeck and large zipped pockets. The material is NRS’s 4 layer Eclipse fabric, which is both waterproof and highly breathable. This fabric is also extremely durable yet soft and flexible to provide unrestricted paddling.
One of the features that sets this jacket aside from others is the Glideskin neck seal. Much more comfortable and durable then latex necks gaskets, especially on saltwater. It is also much easier to remove over wet hair for paddlers with longer hairstyles?! What this seal also provides is a more watertight option, to help prevent water ingress when upside down during rolling, rescue or swimming practice.
Suitable for sea kayaking on all UK’ coastal waters, trips abroad where staying dry is paramount. But this jacket is equally suited for inland touring and open boating during typical Autumn/Winter conditions. Allowing the wearer to spend more days out on the water in comfort throughout the year.

- The perforated face shield blocks wind and spray without restricting air flow. It's lined with soft fleece for comfort, and the offset zipper stays out of your way, whether closed or open.
- Latex wrist gaskets completely seal the sleeves for rolling and keep paddle-drip out.
- The waterproof-breathable HyproTex™ inner skirt dual-adjust neoprene waist mates with your sprayskirt to keep you and your kayak's cockpit dry.
- 4-layer Eclipse™ fabric, with its proprietary waterproof-breathable barrier and Nanosphere® DWR finish locks water out while letting moisture escape.
- A splashproof, zippered dual-entry kangaroo pocket is great for warming hands or carrying your extra pair of gloves.
- Two splashproof, zippered sleeve pockets keep small essentials, such as snacks and sunscreen, near at hand.
- Reflective tape on the hood, and reflective graphics throughout the jacket, keep you visible in low-light conditions.
