The Hobie Pro Angler Series are perhaps the ultimate fishing kayak from the Hobie range of MirageDrive kayaks. Much of their line-up have onboard fishing features, but the Pro Angler’s (sometimes refereed to as the PA) are the only ones designed with the angler exclusively in mind. Bow, stern and side carry-handles help to move the kayak on dry land, and once on the water most will find the Pro Angler 14’s hull provides a great combination of manoeuvrability and stability. The generous, fully adjustable Hobie Vantage Seat provides a comfortable position from which to fish from, but the Pro Angler 14 is also stable enough to cast and fish from standing up when required.

The deck area is packed with plenty of features you would want on a day’s fishing trip, and as expected from Hobie, the retractable rudder controls, storage spaces, and drinks holder are all within easy reach. The Hobie Pro Angler 14 has specific protected storage areas to carry up to six fishing rods horizontally up front, and a further two in the rear flush-mounted rod holders. It also features a large bungee covered rear tank well, and three internal, watertight storage compartments. The Pro Angler 14 has a maximum carrying capacity in excess of 270kg, meaning that it can easily be loaded up enough tackle for serious days out.

To assist with manoeuvring a kayak of this size, a dual controlled rudder and retractable skeg system are simple to operate. Whilst a lightweight glass fibre kayak paddle is supplied so that the boat can still be moved in shallow waters. On the underside of the kayak a Guardian Retractable Transducer Shield is located, allowing for fish finder transducers to be easily installed. The Hobie Mirage Pro Angler 14 has two different pedal-drive options:

Pro Angler 14 180 Mirage Drive; Featuring the exceptional Hobie Mirage Drive 180 V2, this pedal drive is extremely efficient and comes complete with forward and reverse options for increased performance. This version of the Mirage Drive also includes Kick Up Turbo Fins, for more power on every pedal and reduced chance of damage to the fins on underwater obstructions.

Pro Angler 14 360XR Drive; Featuring the updated Mirage Drive 360 XR the Pro Angler 14 360 can be controlled with great precision as the fins can be pointed into any direction. With this complete 360-degree control, navigating the Pro Angler 14 is extremely simple with the steering controls located alongside the rudder handle to optimise the ease of use. The 360 XR Drive does include Kick Up Turbo Fins as standard for great performance and practicality.

There were no feature changes between 2022 and 2024 with new colours introduced in 2024 - Battleship Grey, Dune Camo and Sunrise Camo.
