The Sportsman Bigwater 132 PDL is designed for large, calm, open water bodies. At a little over 13ft long the Bigwater 132 is surprisingly agile, with a large volume this pedal driven fishing kayak is suited for those who wish to take plenty of kit for a long day angling. It is also a great choice for larger paddlers and those who seek stability and comfort as a priority. The seat is easily adjusted forward and back along Old Towns patented system and offers exceptional comfort. Also featuring a universal transducer attachment under the hull and a scupper hole access, the Bigwater 132 is easy to instal a fishfinder to while keeping the wiring clear and easing clean lines. Grippy EVA Deck Pads give excellent traction for standing and casting, the wide beam and stable nature of the Bigwater 132 PDL means that this absolutely a possibility, particularly on calm waters.
The pedal drive system is the robust low maintenance Old Towns PDL drive, is easy docking/ deploying for hassle free launching means that it is easy to pedal. This propeller drive has a forward and reverse instant thrust making it easy to change direction quickly, particularly when used in conjunction with the oversized rudder the hand controls can be found to the left of the seating position while the right-hand side houses the deployment and up-haul controls. The Bigwater PDL 132 is at its core a kayak for anglers and is designed to make fishing as easy as possible.
When loading up there is ample storage on this fishing kayak, a large bow hatch can easily accommodate a trolley and any batteries/ wiring from a fish finder, the oversized rear cargo tank well is perfect for a fish bag, fishing crate and more. In the seated area a tackle tray is located on a shelf under the seat, ideal for storing lures and tackles for the most convenient access. While another hatch is under the seat to allow more access to the hull. Both left and right feature small moulded in storage pockets (perfect for a Plano case). The PDL drive also has a flip up hatch for additional storage.
While packed full of features from bow to stern, should the Old Town Bigwater 132 not have what you are looking for in the optimum location, slide tracks are located on either side both aft and fore of the seat making it easy to fit fishfinder displays, camera mounts, additional rod holders and a host of other accessories. Two additional mounting plates can be found at the bow for adding accessories without needing to drill into the hull itself.
