Mark 2 version of a poular British sea kayak design
The popular P&H Scorpio II sea kayak has been given a refresh and still provides a time-proven expedition sea kayak. The Scorpio has a similar progressive hull shape to the composite P&H Cetus. Witha highly stable, slightly V-shaped hull, rounded chines, that transition into a slender bow and stern. The Scorpio is known as a 'Swede-Form' kayak, where the widest point of the boat is situated behind the cockpit, providing a nice, stable hull, without interfering with normal forward paddling strokes.
With a large carrying capacity, long waterline length and four sealed compartments the Scorpio 2 is designed primarily as a mulitiday expedition boat, and most kayakers will find that it paddles better when loaded up with gear. The low profile rear deck, and low cockpit rim behind the backband alows for a better body portion when eskimo rolling. The rest of the deck layout is well thoughout, with adventurers in mind. Including recesses for spare paddles and compass, and moulded-in inserts to take a sail mast foot.
