Enigma Canoes Square Stern 126

An open canoe for use with an outboard motor.

From the well-respected Enigma Canoes line up is the Square Stern 126. Based on the popular Tripper 14 model, the Square Stern 126 is wide, stable and designed for ease of use rather than high performance. As the name suggests, the stern of the boat has been squared off to accommodate an outboard motor when required. It can also be used with traditional canoe paddles if required, and comes supplied with oarlock sockets on the gunnels so it can be rowed if desired (oars, oarlocks and paddles supplied separately).

The Square Stern 126 is constructed from an extremely hard-wearing triple layer plastic material that is durable, resistant to warping and has an inner foam-core to add buoyancy. Fitted out with 3x wood-web seats, the Square Stern 126 offers room and capacity for up to three people, with the wide centre seat perfectly situated for the rowing position. The moulded rear transom will hold either an electric outboard motors or petrol engine, up to 4 Horse Power.

Along the underside of the hull runs a full-length keel rib, which adds lots of structural rigidity to the hull, and makes the 126 much easier to track in a straight line. The wide, flat hull offers superb stability and acts as an ideal fishing platform. Some anglers even find the Square Stern 126 stable enough to stand and cast from. An advantage of a fishing canoe over a fishing kayak is the dry ride- with tall sides, and a complete hull, the Square Stern 126 ensures the angler/s stay dry unless of course the UK weather dictates otherwise!
