A Versatile, Lightweight Canadian Canoe

The Nova Craft Prospector 16 is the most popular size of Prospector in the range, and this version is supplied in either TuffStuff or TuffStuff Expedition laminates. These lightweight materials offer a great combination of strength and weight, with TuffStuff being the more popular choice. The TuffStuff Expedition version has extra material to provide a heavier-duty, stiffer Prospector with greater impact resistance.  Fibreglass provides a good option for looking for a lightweight Prospector and works out at less cost than more expensive/advanced materials.

As with all 16ft Prospectors, the Nova Craft Prospector 16 can be paddled by one person, or in tandem and can easily cope with overnight expedition kit for those wanting to complete multi-day trips, regardless of laminate. If the canoe is mainly going to be paddled by one person, and without being fully loaded up, then the Prospector 15 is even lighter, more manoeuvrable, and easier to handle solo. If you require a more robust canoe then the Nova Craft Prospector 16 is also available in Nova Craft's tough and durable SP3 Material, providing all-round paddlers with the perfect choice for moving water, tackling small rapids and high-use environments (eg Outdoor Centres).

The Prospector 16 has been designed to be as easy to paddle as possible with a hull shape which has proven so successful over the years due to its versatility on a variety of different water types. With forgiving lines and a moderate rocker, the Prospector 16 is at home with camping trips down slow-moving rivers as it is for day paddles on local canals, lochs or lakes.
