The Old Town Discovery 133 is a hugely popular canoe thanks to its stability and ease of use. Like all Old Town open boats, the Discovery 133 is rotomolded from extremely durable, hard-wearing triple layer polyethylene to give years of maintenance free canoeing.

The Discovery 133 comes outfitted with 3x factory-fitted seats as standard and has a maximum recommended carrying capacity of 327.5kg which allows for three adult paddlers to take to the water when desired. The hull shape is designed to be wider than most canoes, which as a result provides a high level of confidence inspiring stability; a feature sought out by novice paddlers and anglers. The drawback to the wide, stable hull is drag and the Discovery 133’s combination of a short and wide hull means it is a slow canoe (in comparison to other models) and is less efficient at covering the miles.

Another feature enjoyed by beginners is the built-in, defined keel line, that assists with tracking and helps the boat to paddle in a straight line on open stretches water. For those wishing to paddle the Discovery 133 solo, then the middle-webbed seat is the perfect position to do so, additionally from this position the Discovery 133 can also be rowed if/when required (oars/oarlocks supplied separately).
