Old Town Penobscot 164 and 174
£1199.00 — £1699.00
Fast, efficient canoe designed to travel long distances.
The Old Town Penobscot is a classic, proven design originally used to win long distance canoe races, making it an ideal canoe for covering the miles on longer days out. The low rocker profile, narrow beam and shallow arched hull allows for this shape to track well in a straight line and have a fast top-end cruising speed. With a high carrying capacity and large freeboard, both the Penobscot 164 and Penobscot 174 offer scope to carry two paddlers, and a week’s worth of expedition kit for multi-day adventures.
With large carrying capacities, these open boats are loved by intermediate and more experienced paddlers looking for performance from their canoe, with a strong heritage. For those not wanting to race their canoe, the Penobscots make great tripping/expedition open boats. The Penobscots from Old Town make them a great choice for expeditions and canoe camping trips where the need to cover longer distances between campsites is a pre-requisite. As with all Old Town Canoes, the Penobscot canoes are constructed from extremely durable 3-layer polyethylene to provide fantastic hull strength, rigidity and robustness.
