Padded Upright Bars for Kayak Transport

To solve the issue of carrying more than one kayak on a roof-rack system, one solution is adding a pair of uprights to the existing roof rack. They can be easily fitted or removed using a 17mm spanner or socket (not supplied). Welded eyelets on top for threading cam straps through, and padding to offer protection to the kayaks hull.

With boats loaded on their side using these uprights, it can provide enough space across the roofbars for up to 4 small kayaks, or a kayak and slim roofbox or bike carrier. One important consideration is that these uprights will raise the overall vehicle height by up to half a metre when fitted. (low car park barriers and garages can prove problematic!).

Please note- always check the recommended weight limit for the vehicles roof and existing roof-rack system before transporting multiple kayaks, canoes, bikes and roof boxes.
