Compact Composite Sea Kayaks

The Valley Gemini’s are at their core compact, responsive and agile sea kayaks which are suited for those who want an easy to manage kayak for both on and off the water. Due to the short length, under 16ft, these less than 21kg boats are easy to load and have dramatically improved manoeuvrability over larger sea kayaks.

What sets the Valley Gemini aside from other sea kayaks is its design.

Available in two models, the SP (Sports Play) and ST (Sports Touring) each Gemini has been specifically designed to offer minimal compromise for the user. Starting with the SP, as the name suggests this is a boat which is playful in nature and will be lively in surf-zones, tideraces and rock-hopping (although we would advice looking at the Gemini SP RM if regularly looking at rock-hopping due to the higher wear offered by triple layer plastic over composite). The SP has a wider bow, and significantly more rocker and overall volume, which results in more manoeuvrability and greater secondary stability. By contrast the ST is a narrower bow for optimised speed and performance, with a maximised waterline length and improved tracking. This results in the ST being far more oriented towards touring.

There are similarities between these two twin kayaks, both share the same mid-section of the hull which results in the same stability, and cockpit fit. Both also feature a shallow V-shaped hull, drop down skeg, with three storage hatches (including sealed bulkheads) across the length. Decklines and bungess line the deck as expected. The seated area is well padded and can be easily adjusted to offer a bespoke fit.
