The Heron 9 XT's well-defined bow entry line facilitates excellent tracking through the water, while the hull's flatter middle section offers stability, inspiring confidence in most paddler, including those new to the sport.

Any equipment you decide to take with you (such as spare clothing or provisions) can easily be stowed in the rear Quick-Seal oval storage hatch with sealed bulkhead, and the front mounted paddle park and bottle holder are also useful features. The lightweight Heron 9 XT is easy to lift onto a car roof rack system, or transport to the water thanks to the comfortable front and rear carry handles. The XT model includes two flush-mounted rear rod holders as standard equipment for fishing enthusiasts, but they also are discreetly hidden out-of-the-way behind the rear of the cockpit. These rod-holders also make for convenient action camera mounts (supplied separately), for those wanting to film days out and share their on-water activities.

Other well-thought-out features include a well-padded Comfort Flex seat system that can easily be adjusted for the ideal paddling position. With adjustable footrests and comfy thigh pads, the paddler can achieve a nice paddling position to suit and make the most out of their paddling session.
