The Riot Quest 9.5 is a recreational touring kayak that features a large open cockpit design, that gives paddlers an easy way to enter and exit the kayak. This kayak has a multi-chine hull shape, which means that it boasts a high level of stability for peace of mind in calm and sheltered waters. The Quest 9.5 leans towards a relaxed and casual paddling style, making it a great option for paddlers looking to take their time exploring a local river, canal, or lake.

The bow has a defined v-shape that helps the kayak to maintain a good forwards direction when cruising across the water, allowing the paddler to control and manoeuvre the kayak with very little effort. The compact size of the kayak is beneficial for paddling in and out of tight spaces, but also offers a lot of convenience for storage and transport off the water, weighing less than 15 kg. This does mean that the Quest 9.5 is most appropriate for junior and smaller adult paddlers.

The Riot Quest 9.5 has some handy features to make adventuring on the water easier, such as the large rear storage compartment for carrying extra equipment. Inside the roomy cockpit, the kayak has been outfitted with Riot's Flex Light seat system, which includes an adjustable backrest and foot pegs to find the best fit. Behind the foot pegs is a flotation airbag that has been pre-fitted and is intended to minimize the space available for water to enter, in the event of a capsize. Another interesting feature is the flush mounted fishing rod holder, which is ideal for casual fishing.
