Dagger Axiom
The Axiom series came as result of slalom paddlers who enjoy the speed of a slalom boat, but wanted something more robust and playful than their composite slalom boats. What Dagger achieved with the Axiom was spot on a boat that was stable enough for beginner to intermediate kayakers, extremely fast, manoeuvrable and plays really well on moving water.
With its slicey back end, the Axiom surfs waves really well, is stable on end whilst learning to cartwheel and stern dips on eddyline's are easily achievable. Sharp rails which a novice may take some getting used to will help with edge control and allow for new skills to be developed whilst honing basic skills. Having said that we were fortunate to paddle with the US Olympic slalom team in South Carolina, and their plastic boat choice for ripping up the river was the Axiom.
If you are looking for a fun, fast, river running playboat that shreds surf waves with ease, then the Axiom has a lot to offer from one boat. Although we haven't taken one on any ocean surf, signs are it would be equally at home carving up the UK's surf.
