The Keewaydin 17 from Swift Canoes has been designed by renowned canoe designer David Yost, and is designed for calmer water paddling (as opposed to the more manoeuvrable Prospectors). The sleek lines of the Keewaydin 17 cut nicely through the water, and are ideal for cruising on sheltered waters, but paddlers still find them great when paddling into head-winds and small waves. The hull shape on a Keeywaydin 17 has been designed to accelerate quickly and glide efficiently in a straight-line, perfectly designed to cover distances and track well with minimal effort.

The Keeywadin 17 is ideal for tandem paddlers wanting to cover longer distances such as Scottish Lochs, and wishing to carry multiday kit for longer wilderness adventures. Paddlers who wish to paddle the Keeywadin solo, or looking for a bit more manoeuvrability Swift offer the Keeywaydin as a 3 seater combi-canoe and a shorter 16ft version.

As with all the standard Swift Canoes we import into the UK, the outfitting on the Keewaydin is considered top-end. With strength, lightness and careful thought being put into the components used to outfit the boats. Carbon/Kevlar gunnels are extremely light, yet durable and are infused into the hulls Kevlar Fusion material for superior strength. The Kevlar Fusion hull is popular due to its high strength to weight ratio, providing great abrasion and impact resistance (as far as composite boats go).
