Venture Canoes Afon

A short canoe designed for use on moving water

The Venture Canoes Afon came to life from a group of professional canoeists working closely with Venture to develop a short, nimble open boat, designed to work well on the tight, technical rivers that the UK has to offer. The result of this work was the Venture Afon, and it is now in full production to the delight of many UK open boat enthusiasts. The Afon Canoe is constructed from Corelite material, which offers a great combination between strength, durability, weight and stiffness. The high-density polyethylene  outer layer of the canoe is resistant to scratches, impacts and shallow rivers.

The high volume, flared bow and stern areas allow for the boat to lift up and over waves, rather than cut through them. These attributes also help to prevent the boat from swamping in choppy open water, such as lake crossings. The boat can also be trimmed to suit the conditions and preferences of the paddler/s by adjusting the seat positions (height and pitch).
