The Venture Prospector 165 is a high-carrying capacity canoe, based on the traditional Prospector hull design. This version has slightly less rocker than many other Prospectors, so it tracks well, but does offer less manoeuvrability than shorter models, or Prospectors with a stronger rocker profile. The 165 can be paddled on edge, and combined with the soft tumblehome, can be surprisingly quick on the turn in the right hands, and on moving water.

The Prospector 165 has extra volume at the midpoint when compared to the smaller Prospector 155 which provides extra stability, particularly when loaded up or when paddled by tandem paddlers. The raised bow and stern offer a drier ride on moving or choppy water, and the 165 is equally at home on flat or low-grade whitewater. With a high carrying capacity and strong pedigree, the Venture 165 makes for a great expedition canoe or family boat.
