The Rio is Werner’s offering as a recreational White Water paddle. Ideal for those aspiring to paddle white water and wanting a high quality paddle, without sacrificing strength or ability. The shaft on a Rio is identical to the straight shafts on Werner’s Premium and Ultimate Range. The price difference is due to the construction of the blades.

The Rio’s blades are constructed from a fibreglass impregnated reinforced nylon plastic. This still delivers durability, but is heavier and less stiff than the Premium Paddle blade materials (full carbon or fibreglass). Overall, the Werner Rio offers a fantastic paddle at a good price but lacks the higher performance offered by the Werner Premium paddle range.
