Ocean Play & Touring Sea Kayak

The DesignKayaks Awesome is a super agile short sea kayak, at 15' 5" this kayak lends itself for ocean playing. Available in one size, the Awesome is suited to mid-larger sized paddlers (70-120 kg) who wish to experience exceptional control and manoeuvrability in even the most challenging environments. Ideally suited for rock hopping and playing in tide races, this is an excellent compact sea kayak for all paddlers to use.

The Awesome has a good amount of bow rocker, which makes the kayak a very competent surfing machine, being able to ride high and keep the nose from diving underwater. The hull features a flat profile through the centre for increased stability in rough conditions, but also provide greater responsiveness for more controlled and precise manoeuvrers. The boat also features a retractable Kajak Sport skeg system for improved tracking when required. The added volume to the bow increases room inside for the paddler, which combined with a carbon seat and thigh braces give a comfortable and easy to control position.

Constructed of highly durable triple layer plastic, the Awesome offers a highly stiff construction for maximum performance with minimal maintenance, the perfect material for a boat designed to surf and rock hop in. Three hatches can be found along the length of this sea kayak, giving amble storage for carrying any gear you may need along your journey.
