Versatile Triple-layer Sea Kayak

The Unplugged from DesignKayaks is a stable all-rounder providing confidence to novice sea kayakers, allowing them to explore the UK’s coastal waters. It responds well to the paddler and makes controlling and manoeuvring the kayak relatively simple, even if you are new to paddling. The Unplugged sea kayak is considered to have a medium length (when compared to most sea kayaks), and provides a good combination of forward speed and stability.

Another nice design feature are the low-profile decks on the Unplugged Kayak. These shed water nicely when waves break over them, and also offer less resistance to side winds. This results in a kayak that tracks exceptionally well, considering its medium waterline length. The Unplugged has a shallow ‘V’ shaped hull and a medium rocker profile, aspiring confidence, and ease of use.

Like all Design Kayaks, the Unplugged comes in three-layer plastic. This reduces the overall weight, increases the stiffness and strength for added performance, with minimum maintenance required. As with all good sea kayak designs, the Unplugged has a series of watertight bulkheads and hatch covers, to provide floatation in the event of capsizing, and provide storage areas for equipment and overnight camping kit when required. Colour-matched cord finishes the deck area, and a KajakSport retractable skeg system helps its tracking capability when deployed, particularly useful on windy days.
