Design Kayaks Awesome
The Design Kayaks Awesome is a super agile short sea kayak, at 15’ 5” this kayak lends itself for ocean playing. Available in one size, the Awesome is suited to mid-larger sized paddlers (70-120kg) who wish to experience exceptional control and manoeuvrability in even the most challenging environments, ideally suited for rock hopping and playing in tide races, this is an excellent compact sea kayak for all paddlers to use.
The hull itself has a flaring bow rocker lending itself excellently to playing in waves and surfing. While a flatter centre hull offers excellent stability this tapers to a pronounced keel line for improved straight-line performance and tracking. The boat also features a Kajak Sport retractable skeg for increased tracking in windy conditions. The added volume to the bow lends itself for more room internally which combined with a carbon seat and thigh braces give a comfortable and easy to control position.
Constructed of highly durable triple layer plastic, as are all Design Kayaks, the Awesome offers excellent stiffness for maximum performance with minimal maintenance, the perfect material for a boat designed to surf and rock hop in. Three hatches can be found along the length of this sea kayak giving amble storage for longer paddles.

The Code paddles have an adjustable feather and length using the sturdy central adujster. Available in two lay-ups with either a red glass fibre blade or full carbon blade (both options come on a straight carbon shaft).
