The Bylgja (pronounced bill-gee-ya) is named after the Old Norse word for wave. Very appropriate as this model has a moderate rocker and hard chines, making it an ideal boat for the rough waters encountered around the UK's varied coastline.

At 17ft foot and weighing only 24 kg (fibreglass layup) this is a sea kayak designed for covering distance, and also be loaded up to carry overnight kit for multi-day expeditions. The recommended maximum carry capacity is 140 kg, and a paddler weight range of 60-110 kg which gives scope for the Bylgja to be loaded up to the hilt with equipment, water, and provisions for extended island hopping excursions.

For those just wanting to use the Bylgja for day paddling, the rough water aficionado's will appreciate the hard, Aramid reinforced chines running the length of the boat.
