The Vibe Shearwater 125 is an extremely competent little fishing kayak, with plenty of features to lust over. Designed to be used on both salt and fresh water this 12.5ft boat is brilliant for UK waters offering excellent stability and speed without being cumbersome or heavy.

This feature packed boat comes with a great number of standard features. These include noise canceling EVA deck pads in the main cockpit area and also on the gunwales for increased height allowing greater visibility when casting without compromising on stability, a stand assist strap will help you get vertical when out on the water. Four flush mounted rod holders can be found behind the seat and horizontal storage for two additional rods, on either side, makes the Shearwater 125 a competition worthy fishing rig. The rigid phantom grip handles allow for easy manoeuvrability while the rear features dual heavy load handles to help if moving the kayak around when fully laden with gear these work brilliantly when lifting onto a trolley like the Railblaza C-Tug. Four tracks can be found across the boat and gives the option to fit any number of accessories without needing to drill into the hull.

At the bow a mesh covered area gives storage for bulkier items and dual removable plates can be found perfect for installing hardware to the boat like fish finder displays, there is also a recess for a transducer in the hull and a scupper hole to run all cables through. A small tackle pod sits ahead of the versa pod and gives constant on boat storage. Moving further down the boat the Vibe Summit Seat can be found, this canvas covered metal framed seat offers exceptional comfort, this seat is four way adjustable and gives great lumbar support. Under the seat is a tray offering easy access storage area, while moulded recesses for Plano cases are located on either side of the seat itself, no more hunting for tackle. If standing on the gunwales isn't allowing for enough vertical height or visibility when casting the Summit Seat can be folded forward and the reverse has an ultra grippy elevated standing platform 16” off the deck (or sit on it facing backwards to explore more areas to fish without turning the boat).

While the Shearwater 125 comes as a normal fishing kayak set up, to be paddled with a conventional kayak paddle, you can add the Vibe Kayaks X-Drive (Not Included) which turns the Shearwater 125 into a superb pedal drive sit on top kayak. It features foot pegs with toe-controls as well as a hand control which ensures the rudder can be used to its full potential no matter if you choose to paddle or pedal. Working in partnership with Bixby Electric Outboards, the Vibe Shearwater 125 can take an adaptor on the rudder which makes it ready to take this small jet electric motor if wanted. Alternatively, the X-Drive which sits perfectly into the Versa Pod mounting offers the ability to propel the Shearwater through a pedal fin drive. The X-Drive Pedal system which is an additional option (Not Included) with the standard Shearwater 125 is an efficient fin system, which allows for a more efficient propulsion than can be found on traditional propeller drive units, it also allows for easier use particularly in shallower waters where the fins can be pressed to the hull of the kayak without requirement to remove and stow the drive system.

All in all, the Vibe Shearwater 125 is a fishing kayak which has been considered end to end but remains true to itself. This fishing kayak offers excellent versatility regardless of how you like to get out to the fishing grounds and is perfect for salt water and fresh water alike.
