Tandem Touring Kayaks
Double Kayaks for Touring and Sea Kayaking.
Some people prefer to take to the water as a partnership, and explore with a paddling partner. Tandem kayaks allow less experienced/less able paddlers to be taken out in relative safety, with an experienced paddler in the rear seating position. Double kayaks are usually faster than single kayaks of a similar length, as twice the paddling power equates to more efficiency. The other nice benefit of paddling tandem is that the paddlers can be of differing paddle fitness, meaning the less strong paddler doesn't get left behind (often the case in single person touring kayaks).
The closed cockpit kayaks are well suited for open waters, including sea kayaking. Whereas the open cockpit and our most popular tandem sit-on-tops are fine for sheltered water paddling and having on fun at the beach.
